I.  Program Objectives

A. To promote mutual understanding between Honorary Commanders, (HC), and the Luke Air Force Base (LAFB) leadership and personnel.

B. To help the HC gain knowledge of (LAFB), the Air Force, and the Department of Defense global military mission.

C. To encourage the HC to support with their time and resources, projects that will enhance the quality of life for (LAFB) personnel and their families.

II. Profile of an Honorary Commander

A. Is a recognized outstanding community or business leader.

B. Is an enthusiastic supporter of the mission of LAFB.

C. Is willing to find resources to accomplish the objectives of the HC’s program.

D. Is able to invest time and effort to fulfill the two-year term as an HC.

III. The Honorary Commanders Committee

A. The Honorary Commanders Committee (HCC) is administered by Fighter Country Partnership, Inc. (a 501(c) 4, not-for-profit organization) in close coordinati on with the 56th Fighter Wing.

B. The HCC will be managed by the Chairman of the HC’s Program working in conjunction with the Executive Director as elected or assigned by the Board of Fighter Country Partnership (FCP).

C. The final approval of new Honorary Commanders is made by the Wing Commander. The Honorary Commander Program Chair, Executive Director and Board of Directors of Fighter Country Partnership will have input on the list of new HC’s approved by the Wing Commander.

D. The term of a new HC is two years. During this period, there is an expectation of support with their investment of time.  After the two-year term, the honorary commander can choose to remain active as an Alumnus HC and continue to participate in the program as long as membership criteria are met.

E. The Honorary Commander Chairman and the Executive
Director of FCP serve as the contact and liaison for any offers of support to the base or any specific squadron from HC’s and Alumni HC’s.

F. Once the two-year term of the HC is over, participation in the Committee may continue as an Alumni Member of the HC Program.

G. Many activities of the HCC will include a wide variety of participation from base personnel. Current HC’s and Alumni in good standing will be able to wear the Blue Blazer of the HCC. The Blue Blazer of the HCC is a visual reminder of the community’s support for LAFB and certain meetings and activities will be know as “A Blue Blazer Event” where wearing the Blazer is strongly encouraged.  The Blazer will have a FCP patch on the right breast pocket.  Advance notice will be given for the dress code for all HCC and FCP events.
