Chairman – Rick Hearn

rich-hearnA member of Fighter Country Partnership’s Board since 2008, and its current Chairman, Rick has been active on the Board focusing on the organization’s centric goals of supporting the service personnel, their families and the mission of the 56th Fighter Wing at Luke Air Force Base. In 2010, at the invitation of the Wing Commander for Luke Air Force Base, Rick was asked to serve as an Honorary Group Commander, assigned to the 56th Maintenance Group. This 2-year program is designed to enhance and expand military/private sector awareness, promoting the military educational role that Luke AFB has locally, nationally and globally, while creating lasting relationships with many of the service personnel and their families.

Vice Chairman – Bob Bambauer

Bob joined Sunbelt Holdings as Vice President in January of 2007. He spent five years managing operations at the Vistancia Master Planned Community. He currently offices in Goodyear and oversees the development of the PVl303 Industrial Park as well as various other residential and commercial properties in the Southwest Valley. Bob has gained 25 years of valuable experience working for private civil engineering firms as well as private and major public homebuilders. His experience includes entitlements, land acquisition, land planning and development, customer service, purchasing and home construction.

Finance Chair – David Smith

David Smith_9-2014David Smith is the Chief General Counsel and Senior Vice President of Credit Union West.  David advises senior management on legal and compliance issues associated with Credit Union West’s operations.  Prior to joining Credit Union West, David was a partner in a large law firm where he represented major pharmaceutical companies and tobacco companies, including Eli Lilly and Philip Morris, in their complex litigation throughout the United States.  David also represented large financial institutions in their litigation, and on real estate and compliance issues.

Charlie FreericksCharley Freericks is founder and principal of Freestone Holdings, LLC, an Arizona based real state investment, development, and advisory firm. From 1997 to early 2016 Mr. Freericks was an executive with DMB Associates, Inc., serving as president from 2012-2016. DMB is a Scottsdale, Arizona based developer of large-scale, best in class communities and mixed-use commercial properties. DMB is recognized nationally for its people and projects.

David SchollIn 2010 David Scholl formed Vintage Partners, a real estate development and investment company, with several partners. Prior to forming Vintage Partners, Scholl was with Westcor. As senior vice president of development for Westcor, Scholl oversaw ground-up development and redevelopment for Macerich’s Arizona portfolio.

Director – Colonel (ret) Garland H. Williams

GARLAND H. WILLIAMS, COL (ret), PhDColonel (ret) Garland H. Williams, Ph.D, a native of Atlanta, GA, graduated from Auburn University as a Pre-Law/Journalism major and was commissioned a Second Lieutenant in the US Army Corps of Engineers. As a company grade officer, Garland served in a variety of command and staff assignments both at Fort Stewart, Georgia, and in Bad Kissingen, Germany. He attended the Duke University.

Director – Bruce Larson

Bruce LarsonBruce is a fourth generation Arizona native. After graduating from Brigham Young University with his bachelors in Civil Engineering, he started his engineering career working for his Father’s engineering firm, American Engineering, which was a home grown Phoenix firm started in 1952. Bruce saw this small firm grow into a Southwest consulting firm and ultimately an international engineering firm. Bruce joined WestLand Resources, an engineering and environmental consulting firm, in 2014 as a partner to run the Phoenix office and land development engineering across the state of Arizona.

BBS Chairman – Danny Ortega

rich-hearnDaniel Ortega is a Vice President with Colliers International specializing in retail properties. Mr. Ortega served as an Honorary Commander at Luke AFB from 2010-2012 with the 56th Maintenance Operations Squadron. Mr Ortega is the current chairman of Fighter Country’s Blue Blazer Squadron. The Blue Blazer’s are former Honorary Commanders that serve as the “boots on the ground” to help Fighter Country Partnership ensure the mission of supporting Luke AFB. Prior to Fighter Country, Daniel served on the board of Northrise University Initiative, a non-profit organization that raises funds and institutional partnerships for Northrise University, the first private Christian university in Zambia.
