FCP has enjoyed a relationship with Luke that is so unique, mainly due to the fact that we have been given the opportunity to bring successful prototypical programs to Luke that no other military installations are able to accomplish. The successes of these events are being recognized by senior leaders in the AF, thereby causing other military installations in the country to ask “how are you able to do this?”
FCP provides support in three areas – Health & Human Services, Culture & Tradition, and Advocacy. The importance of advocating in support of Luke’s mission is critical, because without Luke, we would not be a part of the other two areas that are incredibly rewarding. FCP plays a valuable role in enhancing our Airmen’s quality of life while they are stationed at Luke. Whether we are funding summer camps for Autistic children, assisting with amazing wellness expos for the men and women…

Our role in supporting Health & Human Services, Culture and Tradition and Advocating on behalf of Luke AFB has been a monumental one in 2012. We will share with you a bullet point list of events and programs FCP either pioneered or partnered in to support our beloved Fighter Country. Before we get to “the list,” the first highlight has to be the Record of Decision. The DoD’s decision for Luke to be the next training base for the F-35 Joint Strike Fighter program, is far and away the biggest news of the year. With that decision, we now have…

Thomas Fuller said “Health is not valued until sickness comes”. This is a very true statement. Men are generally not attentive to their health and wellness. FCP was honored to be a part of an inaugural event that was sponsored by the Medical Group at Luke AFB. The event was the Luke AFB Men’s Tune Up for Health Wellness and Car Show.
Historically, it has been a challenge to get men to attend wellness events. The Med Group addressed this issue by implementing the idea of hosting a golf tournament, as well as a car show. The car show brought in approximately 80 amazing automobiles for display, and the golf tournament hosted approximately 120 golfers.

Once again, the support we received at our 3rd annual FCP Honorary Commanders Golf Tournament has far exceeded our expectations. Ping, The Wigwam, Uptown Alley, Gila River Indian Community and dozens of other great organizations have continued their generous efforts in making the most important fundraiser to Fighter Country Partnership (FCP) more successful than the previous year. The funds generated from this event provide us the opportunity to bring incredible amounts of support…

From the Desk of Fighter Country Partnership,
It is very important that we explain how FCP supports the families at Luke AFB. The military doesn’t support individual families for many reasons. The most important reason is they can’t. Within the military, every individual and family must be treated the same. There are no biases, no favoritism and no special treatment due to circumstance. This is for the right reasons too. A perfect example of why FCP exists is to support the families of the fallen and injured at Luke AFB, because the base can’t.

For those who have not followed the F-35 EIS process closely, let me explain how important the month of February was. The Environmental Impact Statement for the F-35 mission has been an ongoing process for years, and we reached a large milestone for the week of February 13th thru February 16th.
This was the public’s opportunity to comment on the Draft EIS released for each base after years of hard work…

2011 could not have finished on a more perfect note. Having the privilege to host Luke AFB in the Fiesta Bowl parade annually reminds us of how patriotic the United States is, and it is ALWAYS nice to be reminded of that with the challenging times our country has seen recently. FCP Blue Blazers and Ambassadors had the responsibility of handling the American Flag balloon in front of our Luke AFB Airmen.

The holiday season around the base is extra special. The Thanksgiving and Christmas holidays bring together the Airmen and their families more than any other time of the year. This is also the time when particular programs and services are critical, like Operation Thunderbox, Chaplain’s monthly deployed family dinners, Operation Warmheart – Angel Tree, Airmen Against Drunk Driving & Luke Airman’s Fund.
While most families at Luke will have an enjoyable holiday season, there are also those families that will utilize these base programs and services to secure a more comfortable holiday for them and their families as well.

FCP has many valuable roles and responsibilities with respect to Luke Air Force Base and the community. Every day “we” are humbled with the opportunity to serve those who constantly serve and support our country. FCP’s “we” is a very large and diverse group of individuals, organizations, municipalities and fellow civic organizations. One of FCP’s most important responsibilities is to continuously update our supporters with information regarding Luke AFB to preserve our relationships going forward. I call this our Education and Awareness Campaign. We generate support for Luke AFB through the education and awareness we provide. I can’t explain how…
