Bruce is a fourth generation Arizona native. After graduating from Brigham Young University with his bachelors in Civil Engineering, he started his engineering career working for his Father’s engineering firm, American Engineering, which was a home grown Phoenix firm started in 1952. Bruce saw this small firm grow into a Southwest consulting firm and ultimately an international engineering firm. Bruce joined WestLand Resources, an engineering and environmental consulting firm, in 2014 as a partner to run the Phoenix office and land development engineering across the state of Arizona.

Bruce has spent the majority of his 28 year professional career working in the private sector for developers and home builders in the design and construction of subdivisions and master plan communities. Bruce also has experience working with commercial and industrial developers as well as with municipalities and the State of Arizona on public sector projects. He oversees, the land development sector which includes land development engineering and landscape architecture.

Bruce was an Honorary Commander at Luke Air Force Base from 2008-2011 assigned to the Component Maintenance Squadron. Bruce is involved with many volunteer and professional organizations. He is a previous board member of Westmarc, a member of the Leadership West Alumni committee and previous retreat committee chair of Leadership West, a steering committee member of Friends of Civil Engineering at ASU, Fighter Country Partnership Board member as a finance committee member and Blue Blazer past chairman. Bruce is also active in professional organizations related to his profession such as Home Builders Association of Central Arizona, Federal Affairs committee of Valley Partnership, and Arizona Public Works Association (APWA). He is a registered professional engineer in Arizona, California, and New Mexico.

Bruce is married to Louisa and a father to three children, and a proud grandfather to three grandchildren. In his free time, Bruce enjoys road biking with his wife, photography, and spending time travelling to spend time with his grown children and grandchildren.
