From the Desk of Fighter Country Partnership,

During a recent “year in review” meeting I was asked what I was most proud of this year and I sat there silent. The more dumbfounding thing is that as I sat there in silence, I was literally saying to myself, “why are you not speaking, FCP has done more than ever.” My simple response was that it has been another great year and we have been able to sustain the success we have had over the past four years since I had the opportunity to lead FCP.

I was still frustrated with myself because I couldn’t immediately highlight some of the fantastic functions we were a part of. Luke Days Open House and Air Show, Mission Support Group’s Start Small – Save Big Finance Expo, expanding our Blue Blazer Squadron, building stronger relationships with FCP supporters, welcoming a new Wing Commander and 4 Group Commanders, being a part of Fry’s Food & Drug Courageous Hearts Campaign, working with Alliance Beverage and KNIX to put on an AWESOME concert at Luke, getting excited about the upcoming Fiesta Bowl Parade for our 7th year, continuing to push forward with Facility Advancement And Relief projects (FAAR), creating a Dorm resident welcome package for our newest Air Force Airmen arriving at Luke AFB ready to serve our nation, assisting Luke’s Operation Warmheart program during the holidays for families in need, and SO much more…

Even as I finished the world’s longest run-on sentence, more programs and services enter my mind that are incredibly impactful, like the youth programs we support surrounding Luke’s autistic children or the creation of the Military Club Beyond program geared towards working with our “tweener” military kids between the ages of 13 thru 17 or even the summer camps FCP sponsored…Now I can’t stop thinking about the things I am proud of, I just needed a little time to focus on it. I am also proud of our supporters, and how strong they are. I encourage all of you to view the main page of our website and take the time to watch the rolling sponsor section, it is very impressive and their support makes it happen.

Most importantly I am proud Susan and Veronique, the FCP staff, are proactive, reactive, and phenomenal ensuring the programs, services and events FCP is a part of continue to be a success. Without the performance of FCP’s office, none of the things we do could be sustained, and that is the most important thing of all. Enhancing the quality of life is our mission, and because Luke is a revolving door of military families, it is incredibly important for us to continue to offer the programs we do so our constantly changing population can continue to benefit from the resources we provide.

So as FCP prepares for our Dorm Dweller Holiday event and our “it’s a Fighter Country Christmas” function, let us wish you a happy and safe holiday season. Lastly, on behalf of the FCP Board of Directors, the Blue Blazer Squadron and FCP staff, thank you for the support you provide as together we support the men, women, families and mission of Luke AFB.

Good stuff.
