Fighter Country Foundation is sponsoring the first-ever Women’s Leadership Development Series for women leaders from Luke Air Force Base, Phoenix Suns, USAA, Arizona Public Service, HonorHealth, and the Cities of Surprise and Peoria. The purpose of this event is to increase community awareness of the role female airmen play in the Air Force, enhance relationships between Luke AFB and the community, introduce the women of Luke AFB to life and leadership outside “the fence”, and thank the generous sponsors of Fighter Country Partnership and Fighter Country Foundation.

The first session was held on 21 February at The Wigwam in Litchfield Park. General (Ret) Robin “Baba” Rand was the keynote speaker and shared stories from his Air Force leadership journey of over 40 years. Women participants were actively engaged in the work and started forming relationships with other participants, exchanging contact information as well as a glass of wine and hors d’oeuvres after the session. The series will continue through June.

Testimonials after the first session:

“General Rand was great. His energy and leadership are contagious and he was a fantastic speaker.”

“I appreciated that the focus for the event was on the information and that the content did not become stagnant by focusing too long on one thought.”

“Nicole and Dina did a great job. They were professional, yet, warm, relatable and fun in their delivery.”

“I was really pleased with this first meeting and look forward to continuing.”
